Halloween O'Brien style! Part 2

Saturday we went to historic Winston-Salem, about an hour away from us. It was a great day to visit  another century! Fun being Halloween weekend, It wasn't very crowded, and the sun was shining.

It was such a beautiful drive because all the trees are changing color!

Love autum!

Ben found something he enjoys...

I found something I like!

And it was goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood.

We also spent a long time at the local church's graveyard.

This particular church has a tradition of seperating their members into men, boys, women, and girls. They do this to illustrate that God sees us all as who we are, and to address the needs of each individual group.
They bury their members in the same fashion, so the graveyard is serparated into quadrants for each group.
I thought that was really sad... we found a lot of gravestones for children who had died close to birth, and they weren't buried with their families! I know what to expect for the next life, but something about that seemed so terrible to me...

That's just creepy.

Yes... that says 1777! How cool is it that we saw gravestones as old as our country?!?!

We got back into town just in time to decorate our car and meet some friends for our ward's Trunk-or-Treat!

We were the tortoise and the hare, and decorated the car to be our pet cage!
I wore white with bunny ears and a cotton-ball tail, Ben wore all green with a cut-out shell.
We put the back seats down in our car, and filled it with shredded newspaper and put our candy in tupperware that looked like pet food containers. It was super easy, very very inexpensive, and I think it turned out pretty well!

I was trying to show off my tail, but it still didn't work!

Our competition: The car next door

Every time kids would come to our car and say "Trick or treat!" Ben would say, "Trick!" It took most of them coming by for their second or third turns to figure it out.

Happy Halloween, world! We had fun.
